How to Apply

A fully completed official State of Texas Employment Application submitted electronically through CAPPS Recruit is required when applying for any position at the State Office of Administrative Hearings. Paper applications are not accepted at any office locations. Resumes are also not accepted in lieu of a completed State of Texas Employment Application.

Special Requirements

Some positions may require a writing sample as part of the application. If so, this requirement will be stated in the job posting. Please email writing samples to the Human Resources Division at HR@soah.texas.gov. Please include the job posting number and the applicant’s full name in the subject line of the email. Any electronic applications submitted without the required writing sample will be considered incomplete.

Other special requirements that may be listed in State Office of Administrative Hearings’ job postings include proof of typing speed; college, law school, or other transcripts; or proof of certification. If any of these are required, they will be stated in the job posting. If you are selected for an interview, you may be requested to provide the required information prior to the interview by email to the Human Resources Division at HR@soah.texas.gov or in person at the time of the interview.

Interviews

Candidates included in the interview pool will be contacted by the Human Resources Division to schedule an interview. Only candidates selected for an interview will be notified in writing by the Human Resources Division of their selection or non-selection for the position.

Background Checks

Criminal background checks, driving history, and reference checks are conducted on all applicants selected for hire. Furthermore, the agency participates in e-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
