Applications for employment with SOAH are submitted electronically through external web site (WIT). Paper applications are not accepted at any SOAH office. Résumés are not accepted in lieu of completed applications. Some positions require a writing sample as part of the application. The requirement will be stated in the job posting. If a writing sample is required, please e-mail your writing sample to the Human Resources Department at The e-mail subject line must state the posting number and the applicant’s full name. An electronic application without an accompanying writing sample, if required, will be considered incomplete.

Other special requirements that may be listed in a job posting include proof of typing speed, college and law school transcripts, and proof of certification. If you are selected for an interview, you may be asked to fax or e-mail the information to the Human Resources Department before the interview or bring the information to the interview.

If you are applying for an administrative law judge position, please list all bar memberships and license numbers in the Occupational License/Certification section of the state application. The Summary of Qualifications section of the WorkInTexas résumé is available to provide information on professional activities and associations, authorship of articles/books and participation as a CLE presenter or panelist.


If you are included in the interview pool, Human Resources will contact you to schedule an interview. The Human Resources Department will send written notification of selection or non-selection only to those applicants interviewed.
